Gosport – Fécamp – Gosport

This is a unique opportunity to take part in the maritime festival Fécamp Grand’Escale in Fécamp in Normandie, in the best possible way. You will sail as part of the crew on Grayhound and not only get the excitement of crossing one of the busiest sailing and shipping routes in the world but also the excitement of arriving to the festival on board Grayhound. As crew you will be fully immersed in the handling and navigation of Grayhound. You need no prior sailing experience but be in good health. The professional crew will guide and teach you all the way. A great mix of hands-on sailing and enjoymenrt of a french classic maritime festival!

We set out from Gosport siuated at the entry to the ‘worlds greatest naval port’, Portsmouth. We immediately hoist the sails and head out for an exciting crossing of the English Channel. Sailing through the night with our watch systems we make sure to keep a sharp look out in this busy sailing route. Timing of our arrival is crucial so we can enter the habour in Fécamp safetly. Once inside the locks we will be in a beautiful harbour sharing the quay with hundreds of classic boats rom Normandy, Brittany and all of Northern Europe. It will be heaven for traditional wooden ship lovers.

The festival is also veritable sea shanty festival and the songs on the ships, bars, streets will never run out. You will have the opportunity to sail on other ships, visit exhibitions, eat great food from the French cuisine and just enjoy the great atmosphere.
