Privateer Jubilee Sail – NEW!!!
May 29 @ 11:00 - June 2 @ 14:00 CEST
565€

Join this fast, fun and exciting ‘cross channel pirate delivery run’ from Brittany to the Gloucester Tall ships festival in Cornwall!
This voyage is a bit more physically demanding than usual. We will sail for 5 days straight across larger open water. You will be part of a watch team and involved in every aspect of handling, maintaining and navigating a tall ship. Hands-on and challenging. No prior sailing skills are needed but a good health and a lust for adventure is a must.
We disembark from Port Rhu in Douarnenez in Brittany, make our way out in the beautiful Bay of Douarnenez, time our approach to the famous Raz du Sien with its strong currents and then venture out in the ‘Mor Breizh’ as the Bretons call the English Channel. As we sail over one of the busiest sailing and shipping routes in the world, we keep a good lookout on our watches whether we sail through the day or night. Between Lands Ends, the southern tip of Cornwall, and Isles of Scilly we tack north in the Irish Sea and up the the treacherous north coast. As we approach the Bristol Channel we might sail past the historically infamous pirate/smugglers island of Lundry. Once past Bristol we head up the narrowing channel and drop the sails as the we approach Gloucester. We arrive at the Coronation Jubilee weekend so we can expect a warm welcome as the town is preparing for a three-day long festival! Where Grayhound will proudly fly it’s colours.
